WELCOME TO MALVERN SPEECH PATHOLOGY

Welcome to Malvern Speech Pathology! My practice has been providing assessment and therapy for children for over a decade in the Malvern area. The clinic is built on my passion for early intervention and my drive to always "think outside the box". I have established an incredible team who believe in my same mission to deliver evidenced based, goal directed holistic care to children and their families. Education and support for parents and carers is central to our work so the functional communication, social and eating skills are maximised.

 

Sessions are either at the clinic based in Malvern East, or in clients homes via home visits. Kindergarten visits, school visits and parent/staff education sessions are also a service provided by MSP to better meet the needs of our community. With the onslaught of COVID-19 we quickly became competent and successful users of telepractice and continue to offer this service.

Our special interests in early childhood speech and language intervention, literacy and disability have developed after decades of work in the public and private sectors. All therapists have done further training in the Hanen Programs for early language facilitation and this work is integral to our practice. I have also dedicated my recent years to training in the field of paediatric feeding and am excited to offer both individual and group feeding intervention (affectionately known as "food school" at MSP). My speech pathologists have developed particular interests in fluency, literacy development, developmental delays, motor speech impairments, and augmentative/alternative communication, and have participated in further professional development to support these passions. As our knowledge has grown in the field of neurodiversity, driven by my desire to best support my own neurodiverse children, we are proud to offer neurodiverse-affirming speech pathology intervention, with all staff engaged in further professional development in this space. We are proud to be able to provide intervention for both children who are analytical language processors and gestalt language processors.
